I have to admit…this two-piece Issa vibe!
Knitwear is a staple in this part of the pond but it doesn’t always have to be a coverall jumper and I love how Zara incorporated this season’s fits into this sexy plunging top and pairing midi-skirt.
You may have seen this Top on all our favourite instagrammers such as @Lizzyrody @thegreylayers and many more. However, if there’s one thing we’ve all learned from Social Media is to try with CAUTION!
I pretty much wore this straight off the rack to get a true feel of how this piece would work for me and my day-to-day style although I think you’d be surprised to know that I wasn’t feeling this one.
Firstly, the fit is super frustrating to work with. I opted for a UK 10 baring in mind the fit was designed to be oversized but the plunging neckline is unflattering. What you are seeing in this picture is the magnificent work of a safety pin, used to connect each strap and reduce the ‘plunge’. Without it, I would have been walking the streets with my entire clavicle, BOTH breasts and my naval on show and it’s simply not that kind of party ladies.
So my advice to you, is you either have the choice to size-down and hope for a more flattering fit or opt out completely because you will get the side eye when you leave your house and that’s not a good thing.
Overall Impression: I would like to say that I think this is a great transitional look as we head into warmer temporary. I Love the neutral colours which means it can be styled with either bright or dark accessories. You can style it for a night out with friends or day trip into the city so I would say it’s fairly versatile. Imagine this outfit with a pair of all white trainers or a lace up booty or flat sandals … #SheWins.
But as I mentioned before, tailoring is everything and it’s just not flattering on someone who’s use to a bit more sophistication.
